ABBYY Screenshot Reader: text from anything on your screen

How often have you wanted to copy text from an image, a locked PDF, a video or a program window that does not allow selection? ABBYY Screenshot Reader solves exactly that: select an area of the screen and within seconds the text is ready to paste. The license is lifetime, for Windows.

How it works

1. Press the shortcut or the Screenshot Reader icon.
2. Drag around the area you want.
3. The text is recognised and sent to the clipboard, Word or Excel, as you choose.

What it offers

• Text recognition with ABBYY OCR technology, in dozens of languages.
• Tables: moves tables from images straight into Excel.
• Screenshots as images when you simply need a picture of the screen.
• Light and fast: sits in the notification area and stays out of your way.

Example uses

• Copying numbers and codes from images or receipts.
• Moving text from presentations and videos into notes.
• Collecting data from programs that do not allow copying.

Requirements and activation

It runs on Windows 10 and Windows 11. After payment you receive the serial number by email, download the program from the official ABBYY website and activate it on first launch.
