Microsoft 365 Family is the best-value Microsoft subscription for homes with several users. With one code, up to 6 people get the full Office apps for one year, and each has their own 1 TB of OneDrive storage, up to 6 TB in total. It is the former Office 365 Home.

How sharing works

The subscription owner redeems the code on their account and then invites up to 5 more people by email from the account page. Each member accepts the invitation with their own Microsoft account. Everyone's files, email and settings remain private.

One Family subscription costs far less than six separate Personal subscriptions. Even for two or three people, the price difference from Personal is small compared with what you get. It is ideal for families with children at school or university, couples working from home or friends sharing the subscription.

Activation

1. You receive the code by email after payment.
2. Redeem it on the official Microsoft 365 activation page.
3. From your account page, in the sharing section, invite the other members.

Frequently asked questions

I already have Microsoft 365 Personal. Can I switch to Family?

Yes. Redeem the Family code on the same account and your subscription converts, with the remaining time adjusted.

Do members have to live in the same home?

The subscription is intended for members of the same household, as set out in the Microsoft terms.
