Windows Server 2022 Datacenter 24-Core, Lifetime License

Windows Server 2022 Datacenter for hosts with up to 24 cores

For virtualisation servers with many cores, this license covers up to 24 physical cores and allows unlimited Windows Server virtual machines. It is the right choice for powerful dual-processor hosts running a whole business's infrastructure.

What it includes

• Coverage for one physical server with up to 24 cores.
• Unlimited Windows Server virtual machines.
• Storage Spaces Direct, Storage Replica and SDN for highly available infrastructure.
• Shielded Virtual Machines to protect sensitive workloads.
• Every Windows Server 2022 security feature, such as Secured-core, TLS 1.3 and DNS over HTTPS.

Why a 24-core license

Microsoft requires every physical core in the server to be licensed. Instead of combining a 16-core base license with extra core packs, this license covers up to 24 directly, with simpler management.

Who it is for

• Businesses consolidating many old servers onto one powerful host.
• IT service providers hosting customer virtual machines.
• Environments with Hyper-V clusters and Storage Spaces Direct.

Support

Windows Server 2022 receives security updates until October 2031. If you are building infrastructure meant to last many years, also consider Windows Server 2025 Datacenter, supported until 2034.

Installation and activation

1. After payment you receive the product key by email.
2. Install the server from an official Microsoft ISO image, on physical hardware or a virtual machine.
3. Enter the key during setup or later in the activation settings.

If you have already installed the Evaluation edition, convert it to the full version without reinstalling, from an elevated command prompt:

DISM /online /Set-Edition:ServerDatacenter /ProductKey:XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX /AcceptEula

Under Microsoft terms, each user or device accessing the server also needs a Windows Server access license (CAL), in addition to RDS CALs where Remote Desktop Services are used.
