Windows Server 2022 Standard 24-Core, Lifetime License
Windows Server 2022 Standard for servers with up to 24 cores
Modern servers have more and more cores, and Microsoft licenses Windows Server per physical core. This license covers a server with up to 24 physical cores, for example two 12-core processors or one 24-core processor, without combining several smaller licenses.
What it covers
- One physical server with up to 24 cores.
- Up to two Windows Server virtual machines on the same server.
- Windows Server 2022 security support until October 2031.
Windows Server 2022 features
- Secured-core server with hardware and firmware protection.
- TLS 1.3 and DNS over HTTPS by default.
- SMB compression for faster file transfers.
- Hyper-V with virtualisation and container improvements.
- Windows Admin Center for browser-based management.
How to count your cores
Count only the physical cores of all processors in the server, not Hyper-Threading threads. You will find them in Task Manager under Performance, or in the processor specifications. If the server has up to 16 cores, the 16-core license is enough.
Who it is for
Businesses with more powerful servers running databases, ERP, terminal servers or demanding applications that need up to two virtual machines. For more virtual machines, Datacenter 24-core is the next step.
Installation and activation
- After payment you receive the product key by email.
- Install the server from an official Microsoft ISO image, on physical hardware or a virtual machine.
- Enter the key during setup or later in the activation settings.
If you have already installed the Evaluation edition, convert it to the full version without reinstalling, from an elevated command prompt:
DISM /online /Set-Edition:ServerStandard /ProductKey:XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX /AcceptEula
Under Microsoft terms, each user or device accessing the server also needs a Windows Server access license (CAL), in addition to RDS CALs where Remote Desktop Services are used.
