Windows 7 Professional, 1 PC, Lifetime License

Windows 7 Professional: for systems that need it

There are cases where Windows 7 is still essential: a production machine with a controller that has no drivers for newer Windows, an old accounting or management program that was never updated, a lab instrument or a collection of retro games. For these scenarios we offer Windows 7 Professional licenses for one computer, in 32-bit or 64-bit.

Important before you buy

• No updates: Microsoft support for Windows 7 ended in January 2020. It is not recommended for everyday internet use, online banking or email.
• Installation media: Microsoft no longer offers Windows 7 on its download page. You will need your own Windows 7 Professional disc or installation file.
• Modern software: many browsers and apps no longer support Windows 7.

Unless you have a specific reason to choose Windows 7, we recommend Windows 11 Pro or, for hardware that cannot run it, Windows 10 Pro.

What the Professional edition offers

• Windows XP Mode on compatible setups, for very old applications.
• Remote Desktop host.
• Domain join for older business networks.
• EFS file encryption and network backups.

Good security practice

If the computer must connect to a network, keep it behind a firewall, limit internet access to what is strictly necessary and avoid reading email or browsing on it. Ideally, use it offline.

Minimum system requirements

• 1 GHz processor or faster
• 1 GB RAM for 32-bit or 2 GB for 64-bit
• 16 GB storage for 32-bit or 20 GB for 64-bit
• DirectX 9 graphics with a WDDM 1.0 driver

Delivery and activation

The key arrives by email after payment. Enter it during installation or from System Properties. If online activation does not complete, Microsoft phone activation is also available.
