McAfee is one of the historic names in cyber security and specialises in multi-device licenses. Many of its editions cover the whole home, from PCs and Macs to phones and tablets, with a single key.

• Antivirus Plus: protection against viruses and ransomware, with a firewall. Available for 1, 3, 5 or unlimited devices.
• Internet Security: adds a password manager and protection against spam and dangerous websites.
• Total Protection: the most complete classic suite, with file encryption, secure deletion of sensitive data and identity monitoring.
• LiveSafe: full device protection with a password manager, in licenses of up to 3 years.

The new McAfee+ range

McAfee+ Premium and McAfee+ Advanced subscriptions cover unlimited devices and add a VPN, monitoring of your personal information online and account cleanup. Each comes as an Individual edition for one person and a Family edition for the whole household. Some identity services vary by country.

Who it suits

McAfee is ideal when you have many devices and do not want to worry about seat limits. Total Protection for 5 or 10 devices is usually the most balanced choice for families, while McAfee+ is for those who also want identity protection.

Delivery and activation

You receive the code by email. Visit the official McAfee activation page, enter the code, create an account and download the app. Add your other devices by sending a link from your account.

Sign in with the same McAfee account and enter the new code. The trial becomes a full version without reinstalling.
